Gravimetric dosage units PLW

Gravimetric dosage units PLW are loss-in-weight equipment ideal to dose difficult materials. They are usually employed to dose additives in powder such as CaCo3, TiO2, talc or light ground material.

They are available in several configurations to achieve outputs from 0,5 a 2000 kg/h. This dosage unit is usually supplied with a loading hopper and a butterfly valve.

They have been designed to provide precise and reliable dosage. The predisposition to a quick disassembly allows easy and fast cleaning.

The hopper of the dosage units P series has been designed with a straight wall so as to allow free flow of material.

The shape of the body and the bridge-breaking system have been conceived to avoid material stagnation.

Indicated outputs are based on tests with material in granule having BD 0,60 kg/dmc

Application

Gravimetric dosage units PLW can be employed as follows:
– directly on the extruder’s feeding mouth
– singularly or in dosage groups

Main sectors of use:
– extrusion
– food industry

Operation

The operation of this dosage unit is regulated by the amount of material that is lost as product is discharged. In order to do this effectively, the loss in weight dosage unit receives constant feedback from a sensitive weighing device, which ensures that the precise amount of material is delivered either continuously or in each batch, depending on the application.

To achieve maximum accuracy, the gravimetric dosage unit PLW is designed to provide reliable material flow, while continuously monitoring the process weight inside the hopper, transmitting the variation to a PLC and adjusting the rotation speed to ensure that consistency of dosing to set point is maintained.

Advantages

– precision and repeatability of the performance in time
– constant dosage
– monitoring of production costs (total consumption)
– absence of periodic sampling operations
– operations
